About Us

Hi, I'm Christian Carter!

I founded STS after 20+ years of coaching beginner to elite level athletes. My background is in Olympic weightlifting, strength & conditioning for sports, and every day life.


In addition to founding STS and serving as the Head Coach of its affiliated weightlifting team, Samsara Weightlifting Club, I am also the Director of Strength & Conditioning for Olympic Sports at a Division 1 University.


Personally, I enjoy spending time with my partner, our dogs, reading (sci-fi and Eastern religion/philosophy), meditation, good coffee, and good food!!

I have worked with Christian for about 4. 5 years, in gaining/maintaining/losing weight for sport weight class purposes. He has helped educate me on proper and important nutrition, but also completely changed my disordered view on how to fuel our bodies correctly to get the desired results. Chris is a great coach. He is extremely knowledgeable, and patient. He would reply to my questions within a day or two. If he was going to be unavailable for a certain number of days, he would let me know. I always felt that he was committed to helping me achieve my goals.

When I first worked with him, I went through a cutting phase. It lasted for 3 months. What stood out to me the most, was that my energy levels remained the same even though I was at a calorie deficit. This was very important to me as I did/ do CrossFit and I had/ have an active lifestyle. Afterwards, I went through a maintenance phase and kept the weight off.

After taking a break, I went back to working with Chris for a weight gain/ muscle gain phase. I gained 10lbs which I was happy about. My fitness goals changed towards endurance work and Chris recommended other coaches that specialize in that area. I really respected his honesty about his limitations; it showed me that he was interested in making sure I received the right kind of coaching.

With Chris as my coach, I had the energy to maintain an active lifestyle. I also recovered quickly which is something I was never too conscious of. He always took the time to answer my questions and provided references in the event I wanted to learn more.

I have a couple of races coming up this month. Afterwards, I will work with Chris again to help me gain weight. I recommend anyone focused on body composition to work with him as well
